Neck pain is quite common and is experienced by the majority of persons during their lifetime. The pain can vary largely in severity, from minimal to intense, and often requires medical or chiropractic treatment. Neck pain can be caused by a number of different conditions, from injury to numerous diseases and infections.

Conditions that can cause neck pain include but are certainly not limited to fibromyalgia, neck strain, herniated discs, and degenerative disc disease. Along with these conditions, tuberculosis, meningitis, and other infections have also been implicated in causing severe neck pain. Individuals who participate in contact sports or have been in motor vehicle accidents are also more likely to experience neck pain.

Along with physical conditions and injury, neck pain may also be caused or increased due to stress and anxiety. Although there are some direct causes of neck pain that can be identified, many individuals suffer from intense pain for no apparent reason. Numerous studies have been conducted to determine the many mysterious causes of this pain but many of them have been inconclusive.

In many cases, patients have found substantial relief from a neck pain chiropractor who administered neck pain relief through neck adjustment. Chiropractors are able to provide patients with a chiropractic adjustment. Chiropractic treatment is an often successful alternative to far more invasive procedures such as neck surgery.

Neck pain treatment in the form of chiropractic care, along with not being invasive, requires no medications are significantly less expensive than other forms of pain management. Neck pain adjustment is typically used simultaneously with other forms of treatment as an alternative therapy. Utilizing an experienced chiropractor as a means of additional treatment for neck pain can sometimes allow patients to lower their medicinal dosages and can reduce their dependence on anti-inflammatory and analgesic medications.

Treatment from an experienced chiropractor can be highly beneficial to individuals suffering from neck pain as adjustments can correct misalignments and shifts in the spine that occur due to any number of causes including injuries and accidents. In cases where the spine has shifted from its normal position, chiropractors can often use various techniques involving musculoskeletal manipulation of the spine and neck area in order to improve the patient's condition and provide pain relief. These adjustments work by improving the patient's posture and correctly realigning the spine and neck so that the individual can move and function normally.
